Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 Summer Time Reads

Hello bookworms!
It’s the last Tuesday of the month and our topic for Top 5 Tuesday is Top 5 Summer Time Reads. My go to genre for the summer is contemporary. I enjoy a good love story or travel novel in the summer and so many have recently come out that I need to get my hands on. But for today, I will give you my recommendations for the best summer reads.

If you are not familiar, Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. She has topics for every week and if you have an idea for a topic, then send your suggestions her way.

1. Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
So not only is summer in the title of this book, but it’s a really great story! It takes place during the summer at the families old lake house after the main character Taylor gets devastating news about her father. It gives you total summer vibes while reading but just bring a box of tissues with you as well.

Me Before You & After You1

2. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I read this book two summers ago and I just loved it! I loved being in a different country rather than the US and it was just so fun and like Second Chance Summer, you may need that box of tissues.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants2

3. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
Such an oldie but a good one! I was obsessed with these books when I was in middle school and I still think they are great stories today. And they are perfect for the summer because they take place during the summer.

Come Away with Me1

4. Come Away with Me by Karma Brown
In this book we get to travel to Chicago, Thailand, Italy, and Hawaii. It’s a lot of fun with a plot twist at the end. It has been a long while since I have read this one but I remember really enjoying it when I did.

Alex, Approximately1

5. Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
One of my most recent reads that I enjoyed so much! It has a cute romance with a summer job near the beach in California and reading it made me want to be there at the beach.

What are some of your summer time reads recommendations? Thanks for reading, cya!

  1. What an amazing list!! Alex Approximately has made it on a few lists this week. I love the cover but I’m apprehensive if I’ll like it or not. It’s made so many lists though….. so maybe?! Second Chance Summer is a Morgan Matson that I’m not sure I can ever read. Cancer stories just aren’t something I can handle. Which is sad because I’ve heard it’s one of her best. Maybe after some time I can try it
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

    1. Fantasy is my favorite genre! But I read it all year and during the summer, there’s just something so wonderful about a YA contemporary romance. Also, The Night Circus is on my TBR for this year!! I’ve heard it’s amazing.
