Happy Thanksgiving to those of you that are celebrating! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I knew I HAD to do this Bookish Thanksgiving Tag. It’s full of wonderful foods and some great and not so great books and let’s just get started!
The creators of this tag are Erica and Becca @ Fangirlscity
Bread: What book is purely fluff and has no real plot line?
The Hopefuls by Jennifer Close – I read this over two years ago and I remember the plot taking a crazy turn that really didn’t make a lot of sense. The little details and the beginning of the story were interesting but after finishing, I don’t really know how to explain the story to someone.
Turkey: What book made you want to fall asleep?
Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken – This series really bored me after the first book. It put me in my first ever reading slump, and I will never forget that!
Gravy: What book makes the whole series worth reading?
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – Ok, so I gave this book 5-stars but the first half is pretty boring. The second half makes up for that tremendously and the rest of the series is just amazing!
Stuffing: What book is stuffed full of action scenes?
The Princess Bride by William Goldman – So much action and adventure and romance. All packaged together in this amazing story. I love it!
Mashed Potatoes: What book looked good, and then wasn’t?
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert – A lot of people were telling me to give this book a second try. I picked it up and read the first 50 pages and I couldn’t get into it. But after being told numerous times to try again, I did. And I hated it!
Cranberries: What book has the sweetest romance?
Cress by Marissa Meyer – Cress and Thorne are the cutest! It was just around this time last year that I read The Lunar Chronicles so I’m really thinking of a re-read soon.
Corn: What’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett – In this case, corny is good and cute. This book was so sweet but pretty obvious as well. So it was frustrating when the main character couldn’t see what was right in front of her.
Green Beans: What book is too long and needs to be shortened?
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver – I always mention this book for books that are too long. It’s nearly 500 pages of a girl who dies and relives the same day for 7 days. I mean, isn’t that little much?
Pumpkin Pie: What book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling – I’ve only ever been in one reading slump and I got pulled out by a new book. But if I were ever in one and needed to re-read something, it would be Harry Potter.
Dog/Cat: What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
Pumpkin Pie – This is always my favorite food! I would eat it all year, if that was acceptable. For my birthday, (which was October 26th) my mom asked me what my favorite cake was, and I said “pumpkin pie” haha. She brought me a lemon cake because according to mom “pumpkin pie is not for birthday’s”.
I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving’s. I’m won’t be tagging anyone specifically because today is Thanksgiving and I don’t expect anyone to hurry up and type a post for today but if you see this and you would like to do it, then I tag you! Thanks for reading!!
