SynopsisKelley Quinn owns and runs the Winter Street Inn in Nantucket with his wife Mitzi. Every year they have a Christmas party and Kelley is in chaos over all the plans. And things just turn worse when Kelley walks in on his wife kissing the man who dresses up as Santa Claus.

Kelley has one son with Mitzi named Bart who is currently in Afghanistan and unreachable. And he has three children with his ex-wife Margaret Quinn, who is a famous news anchor. The three children, Patrick, Kevin and Ava all have their own issues and they are all brought together to help their dad with the stress of the Christmas party and with his wife leaving.

My ThoughtsThis book is just full of drama. I’m not a fan of drama especially if it’s overwhelming and this is just unbearable. Every single character has something terrible going on in their life and the chaos is just so much. Kelley, obviously is spiraling due to his wife cheating on him and leaving him. Patrick, his oldest son, has gotten himself in trouble with insider trading. Kevin is dating the housekeeper of the inn in secret and Ava is a teacher who is just hoping for a proposal this Christmas from a guy who has no plans to do that. I was hoping to feel the Christmas spirit while reading this and it just put me in a stressed mood. The ending also leaves us on a cliffhanger, therefore making us pick up the second book to find out what happens but I have no intentions of doing that. I will say that almost everyone’s issues are solved by the end and we get a semi happy ending but not everyone leaves with the Holiday spirit.

If you like family drama and family’s coming together then you may like this but unfortunately it wasn’t for me.RachaelInstagramPinteresttumblrTwitter
