It has been almost 3 months since I have done a Top 5 Tuesday post and that makes me feel like a major slacker. I love doing these and I love reading every one else’s posts as well. Today’s topic is Top 5 Books I Need to Read in 2019. Whew.. this is going to be one shameful, embarrassing post since there are books that I NEEDED to read in 2018 and never got to. Let’s get into it!
If you are not familiar, Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. She has topics for every week and if you have an idea for a topic, then send your suggestions her way.
1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
This is first for obvious reasons. I told myself at the beginning of 2018 that I needed to read this and though, I did start it in December, I decided not to continue with it because I needed to read shorter books to complete my Goodreads reading goal. Also, I just wasn’t in the mood for something deep and thought provoking.
2. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Another book that I told myself to read last year but obviously didn’t get to it. This book is so well loved and the author has a new book coming out in 2019 that everyone seems to be pumped about and I want to be excited too!
3. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
This is a classic that everyone loves. So why haven’t I read it? I honestly have no clue so that’s why I’m making it a priority for 2019.
4. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Last year I made a Top 5 Tuesday post for top 5 series I wanted to read in 2018 and I only read 1 series on that list. So, for 2019 I’m making the Mortal Instruments a must read!
5. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
I received this book as a Christmas present 2 years ago and it’s just been sitting on my shelves since then. It has great reviews and was a Goodreads Choice 2016 winner so I just need to take the plunge and read it already.
